American Self-Defense Federation

The mission of the ASDF is to provide quality training and support for its members.

The American Self-Defense Federation (ASDF) was established in Knoxville, Tennessee, on February 19, 2022, to preserve and propagate the skills, values, and traditions found within traditional martial arts. At its core, the ASDF serves as an oversite and support organization focused on ensuring the quality and effectiveness of self-defense instructors across many different styles.

Practitioners of the traditional Okinawan karate styles of Isshin-ryu and Uechi-ryu founded the American Self Defense Federation (ASDF). However, membership is open to any student or instructor of a traditional martial art style meeting ASDF membership requirements.
