This month’s presenter will be Sensei Richard Rosenthal, whom some have met at his Largo Mano Escrima clinics. However, Richard is also a long-time Isshin-ryu practitioner and a student of another first-generation Isshin-ryu pioneer, Sensei AJ Advincula. Senseis Harrill and Advincula were both Marines, and we were stationed on Okinawa together, training under Master Tatsuo Shimabuku. They remained friends until Sensei Harrill died in November 2002.
Sensei Rosenthal has much to share; I am sure it will be a great presentation. We try to keep topics general enough that anyone from any style can leave feeling they took something away from the presentation. It also allows members to meet and become acquainted with traditional martial artists from different styles in our region, which is growing. and hopefully, will continue to grow.
